BSIT 1A and ACT First-Year students took a deep dive into Social Media Literacy during the seminar "But the Point Is, Kailangan Pa Bang I-Post?" held on March 26, 2025, at the IFSU Heritage Convention Hall. With Atty. Denmark P. Butic as the resource speaker, students explored the power and consequences of their online presence. Through engaging discussions, they learned the importance of responsible digital behavior, ethical posting, and the long-term impact of what they share online. This seminar served as a wake-up call—reminding students that in the digital world, every post matters.

DRD staff leads lecture on converting capstone into journal publications

The Ifugao State University (IFSU) College of Computing Sciences (CCS) is hosting a seminar-workshop focused on transforming capstone projects into journal and webpage publications, with the Department of Research and Development (DRD) staff invited as lecturers. Ms. Honeylette Baloc-Kimmayong, DRD staff and head of the IFSU Department of Student Services and Development (DSSD) Student Publication Section, led an engaging session on writing journal articles using the IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) format. She provided a thorough breakdown of each section of the paper, guiding participants in structuring their research for successful publication. Ms. Jenny Audrey Mae Valdez from the DRD Publication Section also presented an overview of the university’s publication process, emphasizing templates and guidelines for manuscript submissions. The workshop is ongoing, with participants expected to present their papers for feedback and suggestions.

The College of Computing Sciences, specifically the first-year students, peer counselors and transferees, participated in the seminar entitled 'How to Bounce Back from Adversities: Embracing Resilience and Optimism,' conducted on January 30, 2025, at the Luis Hora Gymnasium. This event was designed to inspire and empower students with effective strategies for confronting challenges through the cultivation of a positive mindset and resilience. Through insightful lectures and interactive discussions, participants acquired valuable knowledge on personal development, mental well-being, and the critical role of optimism in overcoming life’s adversities. The seminar fostered an environment of support and encouragement, motivating students to view challenges as opportunities for growth and self-improvement.
